BOAT HOUSE PUBLIC ART

Exploring history, meaning and urban place

This project is an opportunity to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the river precinct, contribute to improving the public realm of a challenging site, and continue the development of eclectic public art within the City of Maribyrnong. It provides a gentle moment within the hectic urban environment. At a distance, the form reads as a sculptural lantern, reminiscent of evening fires or boat lanterns on the riverbank of an era long past.
